Major services temporarily suspended during the System Upgrade
Branch
Automated Banking Services, ATM Card / Debit Card *
  • ATM services including ATM Card / Debit Card services below (except cash withdrawals during the “ATM / Debit Card Service Period” mentioned in “Services available during the upgrade”)
    • Fund Transfer (e.g. Hong Kong Jockey Club instant fund deposit / withdrawal)
    • RMB cash withdrawal service from HKD accounts via SCBHK ATM
    • PPS Payment
  • Cash and Cheque Deposit Machines, and Cash Deposit Machines (early cut-off from 4:00pm on 6 March)
  • Passbook Update Machines

* including Credit Card linked to Savings or Current / Cheque Account

* Automated Banking Services, ATM Card / Debit Card, SC Mobile App and Online Banking services will resume in phases starting from 9:00am on 8 March (Sunday).
SC Mobile App *
All services including but not limited to:
  • Local and cross-border transfer including Faster Payment System (“FPS”) and mobile wallets top-up e.g. Hong Kong Jockey Club Betting Account top-up via FPS **
  • QR Cash
  • Mobile wallets registration (Apple Pay / Google Pay / Samsung Pay)
  • Foreign Exchange
  • 360° Rewards Redemption Platform


The below functions will have an early cut-off from 4:00pm on 6 March (Friday), unless otherwise specified.

  • Mobile Account Opening (Any incomplete application will be cancelled)
  • Structured Products Trading
  • Bill payment and mobile wallets top-up
  • Personal Information Update
  • Unit Trust Trading
  • Marathon Savings Account, Wealth Saver Account, Payroll Account, Asia Miles Time Deposit and Foreign Exchange Time Deposit application

Online Securities Trading
For Online Securities Trading services, please take note on the below buy and sell orders arrangement for HK and US securities before and during the System Upgrade.

  • Login to Online Securities via the Bank’s website (sc.com/hk) remains available.
  • US securities buy orders will be rejected / restricted, starting from 5:00am.
  • HK securities buy / sell orders will be rejected / restricted after HK market closes at 4:10pm.
7 March (Saturday)
  • Login to Online Securities mentioned above will be suspended, starting from 5:00am.
  • Any Overnight Orders placed for HK and US securities will be rejected / restricted.

Preparation required before the system upgrade
Services
Arrangements (HKT)
Scheduled transactions If you preset the following transactions to be executed between 6 and 8 March (Friday to Sunday), we will process them in advance. Please ensure that there are sufficient funds in your account(s) by 10:00pm on 5 March (Thursday):
  • Bill payment via SC Mobile App and Online banking
  • Fund transfer between your SCBHK accounts
  • Local transfer (e.g. Standing Instructions or scheduled payments)
  • Overseas and cross-border transfer
Securities Trading If you wish to set up Good-till-date orders, the validity date can only be set up to 5 March (Thursday) for US securities orders, and 6 March (Friday) for HK securities orders, starting from 23 February (Monday).
Foreign Exchange If you wish to set up Foreign Exchange Limit Orders, the validity date can only be set up to 5 March (Thursday), starting from 2 February (Monday).
