Standing Instructions
Will Standing Instructions be executed on non-business days during system maintenance?
No. Standing Instructions will not be executed on non-business days or during System Upgrade.
How can I amend my Standing Instructions?
You may visit any of our branches to submit the application form; or you can upload the
application form to "Amendments for SME Banking Services" at our SME Banking website.
If the execution date falls on a non-business day or public holiday, how will my Standing
Instructions be handled?
The Standing Instructions will be processed on the next business day.
Channel Reports and API Notification
What changes will be made to reports and notifications?
The System Upgrade will enhance a variety of reports downloaded via Straight2Bank, Host to Host
and API banking channels. Please refer to
here
for “Specification Document for Report and API Notification Enhancements”.
Premium Business Account, International Trade Account and Preferred Business Account
What is the change in charges when Premium Business Account, International Trade Account and
Preferred Business Account are converted into Business Accounts?
Premium Business Account, International Trade Account and Preferred Business Account will be
automatically converted to Business Account, and service charges will be revised. You may refer to
the latest version of the “Service Charges”

Easy Account
What is the change in Easy Account features after the System Upgrade?
There will be changes to the limitations on the Account Features of accounts opened under the Easy
Account Opening Service:

Service. The Bank reserves the right to terminate the banking relationship or
require mandatory account upgrade in case of non-compliance.

No credit transactions will be processed on Saturdays.

Business Instalment Loan / Business Mortgage Loan & Repayment Account
What is the arrangement for the overdue repayments and fees?
If you have any overdue Business Instalment Loans / Business Mortgage Loans, interests and / or
fees, the Bank may place a lien on any credit balance in your accounts, and debit such overdue
amounts from your Business Instalment Loan / Business Mortgage Loan Repayment account. The credit
balance subject to the lien cannot be dealt with by you.
Deposits Account
Interest receivable and payable
What is the change in the interest calculation of Deposit Accounts?
The interest receivable and payable of Deposit Accounts (including Savings, Time Deposit and
Current /Cheque Accounts) will be rounded up to the nearest dollar for Japanese Yen or cent for
other currencies, including HKD.

Account dormancy
Under this System Upgrade, will there be any change to the dormant status handling for my Current
Account?
The arrangement will remain unchanged. Your Current Account will become dormant if there are no
withdrawal or transfer transactions for 12 consecutive months.
Why is the inactivity period for Savings Account and Current/Cheque Account different?
To enhance the client experience, we have extended the inactivity period before a Savings Account
becomes dormant from 12 months to 24 months.
How can I reactivate my dormant account?
To reactivate your dormant account, you can perform a withdrawal or transfer transaction via
Straight2Bank, Client Service Hotline,or any designated branches.
Billing
What is the special billing arrangement?
For clients whose account maintenance monthly fee is based on the monthly average balance, a
one-off special billing arrangement will apply. The average balance will be calculated based on
the end-of-day total available balance of all accounts from the first business day following the
Effective Date to the end of that month.
Will the billing arrangement resume as normal?
Yes. The billing arrangement will resume as normal after the Effective month.
When is the effective month?
Effective month is in March, 2026.
Cheque Book Charging Fee
What are the changes to the cheque book issuance fee?
The company cheque book issuance fee would be revised as detailed in the table below. You may also
refer to the service charge booklet from our public website (Help & Services > Service Charges)
for the details.

Safe Deposit Locker Rental Payment
If I have insufficient balance in my account upon rental payment for my Safe Deposit Locker, how
would the Bank charge my outstanding rental payment?
You should ensure that your charge account has sufficient balance to settle the related payment.
If there are any overdue charges, your access to the Safe Deposit Locker may be affected. We also
reserve the right to charge the outstanding rental payment in full or in part from your other
debit accounts.
I currently do not hold any account with the Bank. Can I choose to settle the rental payment with
a credit card or through an account held with another bank?
The Safe Deposit Locker service is only available for our clients with a valid Savings or
Current/Cheque account.
Phone Banking
If the Phone Banking Identification Number (TIN) will no longer be used for client identify
verification in the Phone Banking service, how could I verify my identity?
You will need to input the One Time Password (“OTP”) SMS for identity authentication.
What should I do if I have not registered a mobile phone number with the Bank for receiving the
OTP?
