How do I know whether I am using the current SC Mobile App or the new SC Mobile App?

You are using the current SC Mobile App if it is version 6.40 or below. You are using the new SC Mobile App if it is version 7.2.0 or above.

How to look up the version number of my SC Mobile App?

Method 1: Go to the app store of your mobile device’s operating system, search and select “SC Mobile Hong Kong” to look up more details. You can find the version number under “About the App”.

Method 2: Open your current SC Mobile App, press the menu icon on the top left corner and then press “About us” and the version number will appear in the screen below.

Method 3: Open your new SC Mobile App, press the question mark on the top right corner and the version number will appear in the screen below.

I am using the current SC Mobile App. Do I have to register for a SC Mobile Account again or reset my SC Mobile Key / Face ID / Touch ID in order to use the new SC Mobile App?

No. Simply go to the app store of your mobile device’s operating system to upgrade your SC Mobile App, and you can use the new SC Mobile App right away. Your Username, Password, SC Mobile Key, Face ID / Touch ID and Push Notification settings will remain unchanged. You do not have to register for a SC Mobile Account again or reset your SC Mobile Key at all.

When will the current SC Mobile App cease to operate?

We will upgrade the SC Mobile App of those customers who have not upgraded to the new SC Mobile App, starting from mid-December 2023. Thereafter, the current SC Mobile App will cease to operate. For details, please see the latest announcements on our website.

After downloading the new SC Mobile App, can I continue to use the current SC Mobile App?

No. To standardize and facilitate our system upgrade, customers will not be able to continue to use the current SC Mobile App after downloading the new SC Mobile App.

Will the upgrade affect online banking?

No.

Why ‘hot keys on the login screen’ (available in current SC Mobile App) cannot be found in the new SC Mobile App?

To support the enhanced interface and login time, we have upgraded the user interface with different functions shown by groups in the menu.

  • SC Pay, Scan & Pay and QR Cash can be accessed on the Pay & Transfer page.
  • Invest or Insure can be accessed on the Invest page.
  • For eTicketing, tap the button at the top right corner of the login screen, or it can be accessed from the “chat bubble” at the top right corner after login.
  • Ask Stacy can be accessed from the “chat bubble” at the top right corner after login.
Will my mobile device be compatible with the new SC Mobile App? Why won’t I be able to use my SC Mobile App after the upgrade?

The new SC Mobile App is compatible with mobile devices including:

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch (iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or above, excluding beta versions)
  • Android™ mobile phone (Android O.S. 9.0 or above, excluding beta versions)
  • Face ID / Touch ID is only applicable to Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch models which support Face ID / Touch ID, and Android™ devices which support Android 9.0 or above

If your mobile device meets the above requirements but is unable to use the new SC Mobile App, please upgrade your operating system in order to enjoy the new digital banking experience with us.
Sorry, to standardize and facilitate our system upgrade , mobile devices which fail to meet the above compatibility requirements will not be able to use the new SC Mobile App. If your mobile device is incompatible, please continue to enjoy our services via SC Online Banking.

I am using an Android™ mobile phone, why does the system failure message pop up when I open the new SC Mobile App?

For system security reasons, certain Android™ mobile phones which are not using the official keyboard will temporarily not be able to use the new SC Mobile App. Please switch to the official keyboard to start using the new SC Mobile App. Otherwise, please enjoy our services via SC Online Banking.

Why ‘Personalized Settings’ (available in current SC Mobile App) cannot be found in the new SC Mobile App?

We have redesigned the user interface to support the enhanced interface and login time. Yet, you can still go to SC Online Banking to set up your “Personalized Settings”, which will be reflected in your SC Mobile App.

Why ‘Mail Box’ (available in current SC Mobile App) cannot be found in the new SC Mobile App?

In line with our gradual system upgrade, your SC Mobile App will no longer display your messages in the “Inbox” of SC Online Banking. Yet, you may continue to access such messages via SC Online Banking. Please note that messages sent to you via Push Notification at SC Mobile App will not be affected.

Why ‘New Message’ (available in current SC Mobile App) cannot be found in the new SC Mobile App?

In line with our gradual system upgrade, the “New Message” function will no longer be available. You may get in touch with us via “Ask Stacy” or “MyRM” (only for Priority Banking/Priority Private clients) via SC Online Banking/SC Mobile App.

If you have an ATM / Debit Card and ATM PIN or Tele-electronic Identification Number (“TIN”), or if you have a Credit Card, please follow the below step to register. If you forget your PIN/TIN, or do not have a ATM / Debit Card / Credit card, please contact us, we shall assist you.

Existing Online Banking users:

Enter your username and password to log in to your SC Mobile App.

New SC Mobile App users:

Step 1: Open SC Mobile App.
Step 2: Tap “LOGIN” > “Register Here”.
Step 3: Select one of the options below:
       If you have an ATM / Debit Card and ATM PIN ” , select “Option 1”.
       If you have a Credit Card without any Tele-electronic Identification Number (“TIN”), select “Option 2”.
Step 4: Accept the Terms & Conditions and follow the instructions to reset your SC Online Banking account
If you have an ATM / Credit Card and TIN, please reset your username / password at SC Online Banking.

I do not have an ATM PIN / Phone Banking PIN. How can I register for SC Mobile App?

If you do not have any ATM PIN / Phone Banking PIN, you can follow the steps for Credit Card Customers to register for SC Online Banking. In this case, you can enjoy credit card related banking services to view your credit card balance and transactions / view your e-statements / redeem rewards with your 360° Rewards Points / convert your Points to cash.

To get full access to digital banking, please contact us to arrange for collection of your ATM PIN / Phone Banking PIN by mail or at a branch.

Can I use SC Mobile App while staying overseas?

SC Mobile App is easily accessible from anywhere you travel throughout the world, except in certain countries/regions that are subject to international economic sanctions. We are committed to compliance with those sanctions. As such, we do not allow our products and services to be used directly or indirectly in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea and Sevastopol.

Access to our products and services will continue to be blocked for as long as you are in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Crimea and Sevastopol. You can resume your use of these products and services when you are outside these countries/areas.

Is SC Mobile App compatible with my mobile phone?

SC Mobile App is compatible with mobile devices including:

  • iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch (iOS/iPadOS 14.0 or above, excluding beta versions)
  • Android™ mobile phone (Android O.S. 9.0 or above, excluding beta versions)
  • Face ID / Touch ID is only applicable to Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch models which support Face ID / Touch ID, and Android™ devices which support Android 9.0 or above
If my mobile device has been jailbroken or rooted, can I use SC Mobile App?

Sorry, as a hacked device is more susceptible to the risks of fraudulent transactions. To protect your interests, your SC Mobile App will be suspended when your mobile device is detected to have been compromised. To ensure the safety of your account and personal information, please use a “clean” device to log in to SC Mobile App.

How to change the language settings?

New SC Mobile App users: Please select your preferred language on the login screen.
Existing SC Mobile users: Before logging in, please tap the question mark on the top right corner to change your preferred language.

How do I transfer my SC Mobile Key to a new device?

Please log in to SC Mobile App with your new device, enter your SC Online Banking username and password, and then select “Re-register” SC Mobile Key.
Steps to register for SC Mobile Key:
Step 1: After logging into SC Mobile App, a reminder to register for SC Mobile Key will pop up.
Step 2: Enter the OTP sent to you via email.
Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to you via SMS.
Step 4: Set up a new 6-digit PIN.
Step 5: It’s done. Now you can use your 6-digit PIN to authenticate all your transactions with your new device.
After successfully being enabled on another device, your SC Mobile Key and 6-digit PIN will be disabled on the old device.

In case your old mobile device is lost, please contact us immediately for assistance with service suspension. Afterwards, please log into SC Mobile App with your SC Online Banking username and password to reset your SC Mobile Key.

I forgot my SC Mobile App username / password. What should I do?

If you have an ATM / Debit Card and ATM PIN, or an ATM / Credit Card and Tele-electronic Identification Number (“TIN”), you may follow the following steps to reset. If you also forgot your ATM PIN / TIN, you may contact us or visit a branch and, after identity verification, we will issue the new ATM PIN / TIN to you.

Step 3: Follow the instructions to enter your “Old Password”, “New Password” and “Enter New Password Again”, and then tap “Continue”.

Can I change my SC Mobile App username?

You may follow the steps in “Forgot Password” to reset your username.

Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to you via SMS.
Step 4: Complete by enabling the function to start logging in with your Face ID / Touch ID.

How to disable Face ID / Touch ID login for SC Mobile App?

Step 1: Log in to your SC Mobile App, and select “Services” in the bottom menu.
Step 2: In Settings, tap “Password and Security” > “Manage Biometric Login ”.
Step 3: Slide the toggle next to “Enable Biometric Authentication” to the left to disable the function.

Which mobile phones / devices support Face ID / Touch ID login?

Face ID login is supported by Apple iPhone X or latter models with Apple iOS or above which support Face ID.
Touch ID login is supported by Apple/ Android mobile phones or devices with the below operating systems which support Touch ID:
Apple iOS 11 or above
Android 7.0 Nougat (API24) or above

If a third party Face ID / Touch ID is stored on my mobile phone / device, can that person log in to my SC Mobile App?

Yes. To protect your interests, please avoid sharing your device with others.

If I have changed my Face ID / Touch ID setup on my mobile phone / device, can I continue to log in to my SC Mobile App with my Face ID / Touch ID?

No. You need to re-enable your Face ID / Touch ID.
Step 1: Tap the face / finger icon on the login screen of SC Mobile App, and select “Enable Now”.
Step 2: Enable Face ID / Touch ID with your SC Mobile Banking username and password. Read carefully and accept the Terms and Conditions.

Yes, you can choose to log in with either your Face ID / Touch ID, or your username / password.

What is SC Mobile Key?

SC Mobile Key is an enhanced feature for SC Mobile App that enables you to authenticate your digital banking login and transactions. With the SC Mobile Key bound and enabled on your mobile phone / device, you can get things done easily without any SMS OTP and / or transaction token.

What are the benefits of SC Mobile Key?

Seamless: No longer will you need to key in an OTP to authenticate your banking transactions or log in to access Online Securities. Let SC Mobile Key gets it done for you.

Secure: When performing high-risk transactions such as adding a new payee, SC Mobile Key will digitally authenticate them for you, protecting such transactions with an additional layer of security.

Anywhere: Worried that your SC Mobile Key will not work when you are overseas? The truth is: your SC Mobile Key can work for you even when there is no data connectivity. In an offline mode, you can generate your Offline PIN and authenticate high-risk transactions by using a challenge response code.

How do I activate SC Mobile Key?

Download the latest SC Mobile App. Login with your SC Online Banking username and password or Face ID / Touch ID, and you will be prompted to bind and activate SC Mobile Key.

Why do I need to create a 6-digit SC Mobile Key PIN?

Your 6-digit SC Mobile Key PIN provides an additional layer of security when you authenticate high-risk transactions (add payee, limit maintenance, update personal information, and etc.) or when you want to generate an Offline PIN. You are the only person with knowledge of this 6-digit PIN and who can use it to authenticate such transactions.

Do I have to reset my SC Mobile Key when I change my mobile phone / device?

Yes, your SC Mobile Key can be bound to only one mobile phone / device. If you want to transfer your SC Mobile Key to a new mobile phone / device, please re-activate it.

I forgot my 6-digit SC Mobile Key PIN. What should I do?

You can reset it with your SC Mobile App:
Step 1: After logging in to SC Mobile App, select “Services” in the bottom menu.
Step 2: In Settings, tap “Change SC Mobile Key” > “Change PIN”
Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to you via email.
Step 4: Enter the OTP sent to you via SMS.
Step 5: Create your 6-digit PIN
Step 6: Your PIN is successfully reset. Now you can authenticate all transactions with your new 6-digit PIN.

How can I change my 6-digit SC Mobile Key?

You can reset it with your SC Mobile App:
Step 1: After logging in to SC Mobile App, select “Services” in the bottom menu.
Step 2: In Settings, tap “Change SC Mobile Key” > “Change PIN”
Step 3: Enter the OTP sent to you via email.
Step 4: Enter the OTP sent to you via SMS.
Step 5: Create your 6-digit PIN
Step 6: Your PIN is successfully reset. Now you can authenticate all transactions with your new 6-digit PIN.

Can I activate SC Mobile Key on more than one mobile phone / device?

No, for security reasons, you can only activate your SC Mobile Key on one mobile phone / device. If you want to activate your SC Mobile Key on another mobile phone / device, the old one on the original mobile phone / device will be disabled.

I am using Online Banking / another device to login but I cannot receive push notification to authenticate my login. How I can get offline PIN?

Step 1: In SC Mobile App login page, tap “Generate Offline PIN” > “Offline PIN for login”
Step 2: Based on instruction, input 6-digit SC Mobile Key PIN, there will be a set of 6-digit offline PIN generated.
Step 3: Input the 6-digital offline PIN in Online Banking / another device to authenticate your login.

I am using Online Banking / another device to perform transaction but I cannot receive push notification to authenticate my transaction. How I can get offline PIN?

Step 1: In SC Mobile App login page, tap “Generate Offline PIN” > “Offline PIN for transaction”
Step 2: Based on instruction, input 6-digit SC Mobile Key PIN
Step 3: Input the 8-digit code displayed in Online Banking / another device into your binded device. There will be a set of 6-digit offline PIN generated.
Step 4: Input the 6-digital offline PIN in Online Banking / another device to authenticate your login.
